Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor from Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was a natural at athletics from the beginning, as she discovered her talent for sprinting when she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. After only 10 weeks after her first attempt, Felix placed second in the 200 meter race on the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003 signed an agreement with Adidas. She later attended the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place at Athens Greece. She broke the Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world winner in the 200m at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating the long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was an avid competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished in the top three of all events.
